Minimum
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic reporting techniques.
- Ability to learn to observe accurately and remember faces numbers,
incidents, and places.
- Learn to use and care for firearms.
- Learn to administer first aid.
- Learn to think and act quickly in emergencies.
- Judge situations and people accurately.
- Learn, understand, and interpret laws and regulations.
- Learn to prepare accurate and grammatically correct written
reports.
- Learn standard broadcasting procedures of modern radio systems.
- Learn to operate and dispatch console and computer terminals.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with
those contacted in the course of work.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Education
- Equivalent to completion of high school.
- Two years of work experience involving public contact.
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
- Possession of a valid B.S.I.S. Guard card and Firearms Permit.
- C.P.R./First Aid Certificates, Baton Permits, and Chemical
Agent Permits are desirable.

Applications are accepted on a continuous basis. The most qualified
applicants will be invited to participate in a selection process
which will consist of, but not be limited to, a written exercise,
a written examination, and an oral interview. A physical abilities
test will be administered at sometime throughout the examination
process. Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not
guarantee the advancement in any phase of the selection process.
Individuals must achieve a passing score in order to advance to
the subsequent phases. Final selection will be made from an eligibility
list. Successful candidates must then pass a thorough background
investigation. Qualified applicants will be offered conditional
employment pending the outcome of a paid-employment physical examination,
which may include drug screening and TB testing.
